A complete and guided detox program with yoga in Italy

We all get to deal with stress on a daily basis, may it be work related, personal, financial or emotional. But food, use of medicine and environmental pollution can also be stress factors, which makes us feel overworked and out of balance. We can experience all sorts of physical problems, such as fatigue, digestive problems, headache and allergy, but also mental or emotional complaints.

Detox is the perfect way to release the stress that the body has been holding and accumulating for a while. Stress, as well as the external toxicity of food, air and water, translate into internal toxicity of blood, tissues (particularly muscles and fat) and cellular fluids. In turns, internal toxicity causes the body to work less efficiently, the immune system becomes weaker and the natural capacity of the body to heal is inhibited, increasing the risk of disease.

To detox, is to rid the body of the accumulated toxicity of the body, using a variety of tools to address the different aspects of toxicity. Ultimately the aim is simply to purify what has been polluted and to alkalize what is acidic.

Food, water, air, herbs and a lot of yoga are the tools we are going to use in this retreat to flush out the acids and to restore proper balance in the body and mind.

This retreat is suitable for any level of experience and offers a complete Yoga Detox program, spring being the most favorable time of the year to detox. Whether you have a regular well established yoga practice, or have no previous yoga experience, these weeks will give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself into a series of practices which combined with a fully supported detox diet and nutritional advise, will significantly improve your vitality and well-being.

There will be three sessions daily and three pure vegetarian/vegan meals, prepared using fresh ingredients organically grown on the property grounds wherever possible and complemented with the necessary herbs, supplements and other dried food suitable for a detox diet.

The afternoons offer time for rest or for nature walks in the beautiful surroundings of In Sabina. There will be also time for visiting some of the local villages nearby.
We will start the day with a detox juice, followed by a series of yogic practices designed to help you in the cleansing process (kriyas). After some breath work and meditation, there will be a vigorous asana class, based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa primary series - one of the most effective detoxifying sequences of yoga! After breakfast and some relax time, a lecture on nutrition, diet and detox food will give you all the necessary tips and trics to understand the detox process and to revise your diet in a way to support health and longevity. The evening session will have a different focus each day, ending with a Yin style practice, where poses are held longer to enhance the energy and the organ systems. In addition to the daily practices, an alkaline forming diet will be used to create the conditions for you to experience the natural healing process of the body, which occurs when the body switches to its detox mode and begins to eliminate the toxins that pollute blood and tissues.
An individual session will be also offered to each participant during the retreat, to discuss specific nutrition advice or yoga practice guidelines. The retreat setting and the small group allow for plenty of individual guidance, both in the morning and afternoon sessions, so that Hayley and Claudia will be able to work with your specific level of experience and requirements.

Typical Daily Schedule

This yoga holiday retreat is a week long; we will start around 19:00 on the arrival day (saturday 16th May) with a pre-detox dinner and finish early after breakfast, around 10 am, on the last day (saturday 23rd May). The following is the basic schedule we will follow daily, with the exceptions of course of the first and last days.
Be advised that the schedule is flexible and will eventually be adjusted to any special needs or wishes of the group if beneficial.
